Lurking-Variable Reversal Detector
Every fixed-dataset Simpson's-paradox demo makes the same point once and stops. Paste your own stratified 2×2 table, any number of strata, with your own group and outcome labels, and get the crude pooled odds ratio, the Mantel–Haenszel adjusted odds ratio (1959, a fixed closed-form pooling formula), a per-stratum breakdown, and an explicit reversal flag when the aggregate story and the stratified story point different directions.
Method: crude pooled OR vs Mantel–Haenszel (1959) pooled OR, closed-form arithmetic on your entered counts. Built-in example: Bickel, Hammel & O'Connell, Science 187(4175):398–404 (1975), UC Berkeley Fall 1973 graduate admissions, six largest departments. data_vintage: static 1973 historical dataset, never refreshed.
