A revised page and a quietly retconned page look identical to a reader. Enter a panel or page, the edition you are publishing, and the descriptor of the edition it replaces, and this page derives a revision descriptor that stamps its predecessor. Enter the same values again and you get the same descriptor, so a reader can tell which edition a page actually descends from.
